Free Lunch Friday Serves 474 Meals to Front Line Workers in 5 Weeks
For the past five Fridays, local digital marketing agency, 44i, Inc., has supported first responders, health care professionals, and long-term care facilities by providing a free lunch to them through their Free Lunch Friday initiative. In addition to the purchase of the food, 44i handpicked locally owned and operated restaurants to help ease some of their revenue shortfalls due to dining services being impacted and/or suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Organizations that have been served are the Sioux Falls Police Department, Minnehaha County Sherrif's, South Dakota Highway Patrol, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue, PatientCare EMS, Avera Employee Health Department, Avera Radiology, Sanford Med-Surg, Sanford ICU, and Good Samaritan Society's Village and Luther Manor facilities.
Free Lunch Friday has provided a total of 474 meals to our local front line workers. Restaurants supported through this initiative were the Pickle Barrel, Grille 26, Minervas Restaurant, Turks Caicos Cabana Grille, Morrie's Steakhouse, and Bagel Boy.
"This was our staff's way of giving back to those that keep us safe and healthy by caring for our friends and families," said Darren Kuyper, Sr. Vice President of 44i. "Our entire team was integral in making Free Lunch Friday a success, and it proved to be a very positive gesture during these difficult times."
